The Lived Experiences of Women’s Femininity After Mastectomy and Treatment (Case Study: The Mastectomied Women in Tehran during 2018)

The breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer among women and mastectomy as the surgical treat for this cancer is effective on different aspects of patients’ life. this study,an interveiew has been done by using a deep semistructured and snowball sampling process in a qualitative method on 17 mastectomied patients who were under 50 and it was conducted at least 6 months after their mastectomy in order to determine the experinces of cured women from breast cancer(Tehran-2018).The collected data were analyzed by the conventional content analysis.Obtained analysis from patients’ experiences lead to from 18 classes and 7 main themes.socal life theme that includes three classes ,reduction in relationships ,quitting job or parttime job and drop-out.Body image theme includes 3 classes as well:Being asymmetric,unattractive and requiring an organ repairmen.Others’opinion theme includes twe classes:complainments of others’looks and curiosity and also complainments of their pity.Marital relationships includes 4 classes that are named as below:fear of abandonment,fear of spouse’s pity,shame of being nude,relation and disruption in sexual relations.Reproductive health(related issues to women)also includes two classes,premature menopause and possible infertility.Perception support includes taking participate in classes and charity meeting and making a relationship with cured ones.Taking responsibilities of household works includes disability in hosewife affairs and in handy ones
